Digital Clamp Meters (AC Current Clamp Multimeters)

Description

Test, measure, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuits with these compact handheld digital multimeters. A multimeter is one of the most useful tools in any toolbox. It can check voltage, current, and resistance, and it is used by electricians, technicians, engineers, hobbyists, students, and DIY users. Typical jobs include testing batteries, sockets, wiring, switches, fuses, appliances, car electrics, and electronic circuits.

The photo shows two meters, one in black and one with a blue rubber cover. Both have the same layout:

• Digital display: A large LCD shows the reading in big, bold digits that are easy to read, with an AUTO indicator that shows the meter is in auto-ranging mode, so it picks the right range for you.
• Rotary dial: A large central dial selects the function you want, such as voltage (AC and DC), current, resistance, and other test modes. The printed symbols around the dial show each setting.
• Function buttons: A SEL button changes the mode on the selected setting, and a HOLD button freezes the reading on the screen so you can note it down or read it later. The black meter also has two extra function buttons.
• Test lead sockets: Three input sockets at the bottom are marked 10A, COM, and VΩmA, for connecting the test leads for current, voltage, and resistance measurements.
• Protective rubber boot: The soft outer cover, in black or blue, helps protect the meter from drops and knocks and makes it comfortable to hold.

The black meter is also marked “True RMS”, which is designed to give more accurate readings on AC signals that are not perfect sine waves.
