Description

Check circuits quickly and easily with this compact continuity and voltage tester. It shows the voltage level on a row of indicator lights and checks continuity, so you can test for live circuits, find breaks in wires, and check connections without a complicated meter. The kit includes extra test leads, which makes it useful for a wide range of jobs. It suits electricians, maintenance technicians, contractors, installers, and DIY users, and it is useful for checking sockets, switches, cables, fuses, and wiring.

The tester has a compact black case with two built-in probes, one red and one black, that stand up from the top. The probes are insulated and have a guard ring and a pointed metal tip, so you can hold the tester in one hand and touch the two probes to the points you want to test. A row of indicator lights on the front is marked with voltage levels of 50, 120, 230, 400, and 690. The lights come on as the voltage rises, so you can see the approximate voltage at a glance. The front is also marked “Continuity”.

The kit also includes a set of flexible test leads:

• A black test lead and a red test lead with insulated, ribbed handles and pointed tips, with right-angled plugs at the other end.
• A red lead with a clip at the end, for hands-free connection to terminals, wires, and cables.

The extra leads let you reach awkward points and make connections while keeping your hands free.
