Description
Measure and troubleshoot electrical circuits with these compact handheld digital multimeters. A multimeter is a must-have tool for electricians, technicians, engineers, students, hobbyists, and DIY users. It can check voltage, current, and resistance, and it is used for testing batteries, sockets, wiring, switches, fuses, appliances, car electrics, and electronic circuits.
The photo shows two meters with the same layout, one in a yellow rubber cover and one in a red rubber cover:
- Digital display: A large LCD shows the reading in bold digits that are easy to read. An “HV” indicator is shown at the top left of the display.
- Rotary dial: A large central dial selects the measurement function and range. The printed symbols around the dial show each setting.
- HOLD buttons: Two buttons above the dial, one orange and one grey, are marked HOLD. They freeze the reading on the screen so you can note it down or read it later.
- Test lead sockets: Three input sockets at the bottom are marked 10A, COM, and VΩmA, for connecting the test leads for current, voltage, and resistance measurements.
- Protective rubber cover: The soft outer boot in bright yellow or red helps protect the meter from drops and knocks. It also gives a good grip, and the bright colour makes the meter easy to find on a job site.
The body also carries printed safety markings near the sockets, including a CAT rating.
